Student Diplomacy Corps Report Design

Student Diplomacy Corps is a non-profit organization that provides scholarship funded summer abroad opportunities to underprivileged youth. Each summer, groups of high school students are selected to join one of sixteen programs across eleven countries for a life changing month abroad. I was the volunteer group leader for the food focused Japan program, entitled
"Sushi Dreams and Sustainability".
I love documenting experiences through photography, and enjoyed the challenge of capturing the triumphs and struggles of my eleven students. Leaders must submit a report on each student's experiences, and that got me thinking, "If a picture is worth a thousand words, why not use some of the 1000 pictures that I took?"
I processed the photos in Lightroom, and created the background in Photoshop using assets and colors from the Student Diplomacy Corps website. Finals spreads for the report were made using InDesign. My overall aim was to keep it consistent with their branding, while also letting the looks on the student's faces communicate how amazing this program is.
Thankfully the founders loved the design!
