Japanese School Event Posters

Japanese School Event Posters

While teaching at a middle school in Hokkaido, Japan, the principal asked me to apply my photography and Photoshop skills to creating event posters to beautify the halls. He liked my work, and I continued making them from 2009-2012. Each poster is A3 sized, collecting my shots of the event, filmstrip style. The borders and backgrounds change with the season, in an effort to catch the eyes of passers-by. Below are four posters from the series.
The first poster is for the school entrance ceremony. The season is spring, represented by pink, green and cherry blossoms.
The second poster is for the school sports festival. The season is summer, represented by yellow, purple, and watermelons.
The third poster is for the school marathon. The season is autumn, represented by red, orange, and fallen leaves.
The last poster is for the school basketball tournament. It happens during Hokkaido's 6-month long winter, represented by blue, purple, and snowflakes.
