This Ojos-de-Dios Mandala was made to celebrate the birth of young Leon, the first grandchild of is Golden family. The design was inspired by my visits to the Golden family home... there is always a fire going in the stove keeping everyone warm, but outside is a forest with beams of sunlight breaking through. And so, this Ojos is titled for what I hope Leon will always have:
"A Warm Place Surrounded by Trees and Sunshine".
The center portion has reds and oranges to represent not just the warmth from the fireplace, but the warmth from the family. Surrounding that is a green and yellow portion with gaps in between to represent the sunlight peeking through breaks in the trees near the safety of home. The outer portion is dark green and black, representing a forest that is both full of life but also a bit scary.
Trees and Sunshine lined up with a couple of more colorful Ojos.
So much green!
